"Of all the pieces of advice dealt out to aspiring authors, the one I hate most is, 'Write what you know.' It seems anti-ethical to the creative impulse. Instead, write what you love. Write what excites you. And if you don't know something essential, look it up. Have fun learning... Write with authenticity. Write the truth as you see it. Or write to find the truth."
