Warhammer Wednesday: Suit Up!

The hugely popular tabletop wargame Warhammer 40,000 is set in the far future and played with 28mm miniature figures, that at times are supposed to represent Space Marines - 7-foot-tall superhuman warriors. In preparation for Comic-Con, a few fanboys decided to build life-size, wearable replicas of the Space Marines' power armour. To find out more about this awesome project, click here.

What I love about this video is that it gives you a proper sense of scale - showing how awesome 8-foot-tall armoured warriors look next to mere Homo Sapiens - and is something I shall bear in mind next time I'm writing a story about the Space Marines.

Unfortunately, not all of us have the means to create life-size replicas of power armour, but anyone can now experience what it would be like to be a Space Marine by taking on the role of Brother Nabor of the Imperial Fists Chapter in my new Warhammer 40,000 gamebook HERALD OF OBLIVION.

You are a veteran Space Marine of the Imperial Fists Chapter. Equipped with powerful Terminator armour and armed with the deadliest weapons that the Adeptus Astartes wield, you are a symbol of the Emperor's might. Trapped aboard the space hulk Herald of Oblivion and the only survivor of your squad, you must fight your way through the aliens and heretics that infest the star vessel and find a way to escape the horror and return to your Chapter.
