Gamebook Friday: Jonathan Green to attend Dragonmeet 2024
I must apologise for the lack of Gamebook Friday updates recently. I have in fact been very busy working on multiple gamebook projects, but I still can't say very much about them. However, there will hopefully be at least one announcement at Dragonmeet this year.
I will be attending Dragonmeet on Saturday 30 November 2024, where I will be joining Sir Ian Livingstone on the Fighting Fantasy stand in the Upper Trade Hall (marked in blue on the map below).

GamebookFriday: Moon Knight, a Conclave of Dragons, and William Shakespeare
My author copies of Moon Knight: Age of Anubis arrived this week and I'm delighted with how my first Marvel gamebook has turned out. Remember, the paperback is available now in the US and is released in the UK on 23rd November 2023, but the global eBook is available everywhere now.
In three weeks' time, I will be attending Dragonmeet, at the Novotel London West, on Saturday 2nd December 2023, sharing a table with Sir Ian Livingstone. I will also be signing copies of Moon Knight: Age of Anubis at the Aconyte Books stand while I am there.
And last of all this week, in case you missed the announcement on Wednesday, the next ACE Gamebook is going to be Shakespeare Vs. Cthulhu: What Dreams May Come. Sign up here to be kept up to date with developments.

Gamebook Friday: NaNoWriMo and The Roleplaying Game Before Christmas
First of all, I failed to hit the NaNoWriMo target of 50,000 words this year, despite starting with 10,000 words already in the bank. I was about 2,200 away from the target, with two days to go, but then last Friday was taken up with prepping with Dragonmeet and Saturday was Dragonmeet itself, which meant I didn't have any time (or energy) left to make my goal.
On the upside, Dracula - Curse of the Vampire is about one fifth written, and I'm pleased with how it's going. However, it's going to have to go on the back-burner again until the New Year as I have other projects demanding my attention at the moment, and my own stuff always has to take a backseat to paid gigs.
The other reason for my disappointment is that 'TWAS - The Roleplaying Game Before Christmas isn't funding on Kickstarter. Current projections are that it will only reach around 70% of its funding goal. I had really hoped that people would get behind this but so far only about 60 people have, and I need around 200 people to back it to achieve funding. And even then, it will only be at the most basic level, which means there won't be very much more of Tony Hough's artwork, which in itself is disappointing.

I think part of the problem is that sometimes I spread myself too thin and then I don't feel like I'm really accomplishing anything.
But today is another day, and next week is another week. I just need to refocus my attention.

Gamebook Friday: 'TWAS the Book Launch and 'TWAS the Roleplaying Game
I will be there, of course, but so will Tony Hough, my sometime collaborator and the very talented artist behind the illustrations in 'TWAS - The Krampus Night Before Christmas, which is launching at the event.
So come along to Dragonmeet, at the Novotel Hotel in Hammersmith, and get your books signed by both of us. The trade hall will be open from 10:00am.
Talking of 'TWAS, the roleplaying game inspired by the gamebook is coming back to Kickstarter. The campaign will launch on Black Friday, 29th November, and run until the Longest Night, 21st December.
'TWAS - The Roleplaying Game Before Christmas is a rules-lite RPG, designed to be picked up and played with minimal preparation. It is inspired by the legends and literature of Christmas, as well as the ACE Gamebook 'TWAS - The Krampus Night Before Christmas.
The RPG is available in three formats, PDF, softback and hardback.
You can also pledge to receive print copies of ACE Gamebook that inspired the RPG, if you haven't got it already.
