Cover Reveal! Moon Knight: Age of Anubis

I am delighted to be able to share with you the cover for my forthcoming Marvel: Marvellous Missions gamebook, Moon Knight: Age of Anubis, after it was posted on the official Moon Knight Twitter account (@moonknight) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/moonknight) today.

The illustration of our hero is by Xteve Abanto.

When N’Kantu, the Living Mummy, escapes his sarcophagus and steals an artifact that turns swaths of mankind into zombies, Moon Knight steps in to save the day… Assisted by an eager Egyptologist, Moon Knight chases N’Kantu from the streets of New York to an ancient temple in Egypt, where the two uncover an evil ritual that will begin a battle between gods over the power of life and death.

Moon Knight: Age of Anubis, will be published in the US on 5 September 2023, and in the UK on 23 November 2023, but you can pre-order it now.

The Box of Delights - The Roleplaying Game... One week to go!

The Box of Delights - The Roleplaying Game has one week left to run on Kickstarter and is currently 68% funded. If you haven't pledged your support yet, you can do so here.

If you have pledged your support, thank you. Apparently, Kickstarters raise most of their money in their first three days and their last three days, so I am optimistic that we will hit our funding goal, but there are some things you can do to help*.

  1. Share the The Box of Delights - The Roleplaying Game Kickstarter page far and wide, and ideally every day of this week.
  2. Share tweets about Facebook posts I post about the Kickstarter.
  3. Tell your favourite Facebook groups by sharing the link on their page.
  4. Ask your favourite social media influencers and YouTube creators to give The Box of Delights - The Roleplaying Game Kickstarter a shout-out.
  5. Post a link to the The Box of Delights - The Roleplaying Game Kickstarter on any RPG forums you belong to and on any gaming news sites you know of.
  6. And lastly, you could always increase your own pledge. Obviously, I appreciate you having backed the Kickstarter already and do not expect you to do this, but it could be that just £1 ends up making all the difference between glorious success and abject failure.

So, watch this space, and I'll be back in a week to share the good or bad news with you, depending on how the next 7 days go.

Thank you again for your support.

* You can also do these things if you haven't pledged your support yet.

Gamebook Friday: Interactive Fiction and Gamebooks Takeover

In November, I will be taking over the Interactive Fiction & Gamebooks Facebook group to do a deep dive on my latest ACE Gamebook, RONIN 47. I may also give some hints as to what's coming next. ;-)

So, if you have any burning questions about the first SF-themed ACE Gamebook, make sure you stop by the Interactive Fiction & Gamebooks Facebook group during the month of November.

Wish You Were Here?

ACE Gamebooks fan Phil Brumby recently visited Whitby, and just happened to take his copy of Dracula - Curse of the Vampire with him. Judging by the photographs he posted on Facebook (which are reposted here with permission), it was typical English summer weather while he was there.

St Mary's Church, where Mina Murray has an unpleasant encounter with a certain Black Dog.

Dracula: Curse of the Vampire LIVE - Part 6! (again)

It's the sixth part of Ken Boyter's live readthrough of Dracula - Curse of the Vampire tonight. Yes, I know Part 6 was two weeks ago, but that was really Part 5, because the Part 5 show was cancelled due to technical difficulties, so tonight's performance is definitely Part 6.

If you're free at 7:00pm GMT this evening, do join the livestream on Facebook to see if Ken, in the role of Count Dracula, can get the better of the Vampire-Hunters and make it back to Transylvania.

And, of course, the 125th anniversary special collector's edition hardback of Dracula - Curse of the Vampire is available now, and selling fast. So, don't miss your chance to grab one of these very rare, soon-to-be-collector's-items now.

Dracula: Curse of the Vampire LIVE - Part 6!

It's been some time since Ken Boyter's last live readthrough of Dracula - Curse of the Vampire, due to a few technical issues two weeks ago (when Part 5 should have occured). So tonight's session is Part 6, even though there have only been four so far.

If you're free at 7:00pm GMT this evening, why not join the livestream on Facebook to see if Ken, in the role of Count Dracula, is able to get the better of the Vampire-Hunters ranged against him?

Dracula: Curse of the Vampire LIVE - Part 4!

Ken Boyter is back this evening with the fourth (and possible final) part of his live readthrough of Dracula: Curse of the Vampire. He is still tackling the adventure as Count Dracula, and is currentl on board the Demeter travelling to Whitby. Tune in at 7:00pm GMT this evening to see if he manages to reach England successfully.

And if you have yet to grab a copy of the adventure yourself - which currently has 30 five star ratings on Amazon - you can buy a signed one direct from the author here.

In other vampire-related news, on Easter Sunday, Family Green visited the Small is Beautiful art exhibition on the Old Brompton Road before walking through London to Leicaster Square for a spot of lunch.

On the way, we passed 138 Piccadilly, which - according to the Dracula Society, among others - is the house where Bram Stoker imagined the Count and the Crew of Light had a face off, as indeed they do in Dracula: Curse of the Vampire.

So if you've been wondering what all the fuss is about my latest ACE Gamebook, why not join Ken at 7:00pm GMT this evening, and find out?

And if you want to grab a copy of the adventure so that you can play along with him at the same time, you can buy a signed one direct from the author here.

Gamebook Friday: Dracula - Curse of the Vampire

Dracula - Curse of the Vampire has been out for a few weeks now, and more and more people are discovering the latest ACE Gamebook. Some reviews have even started to come in.

Dracula - Curse of the Vampire is going to be November's book of the month over on the Interactive Fiction & Gamebooks Discussion Group (Book Club) on Facebook. But before then it's Halloween, and what could be a better Halloween read than Dracula - Curse of the Vampire?

Talking of Halloween, if you have any Photoshop skills whatsoever, I would like to set you a challenge. I might be okay at writing adventure gamebooks, but my Photoshop skills are zero. What I would really love are some images of your favourite screen Dracula holding a copy of Dracula - Curse of the Vampire that I can then use to help promote the book this 31st October.

It could be Bela Lugosi coming down the stairs of Castle Dracula, it could be Gary Oldman about to bite the neck of Mina Murray, or maybe Christopher Lee in one of his many Hammer Horror appearances. I really don't mind. So let's see what you've got...

RONIN 47 and RPGaDay 2021

RONIN 47 - the mech-vs-kaiju seventh ACE Gamebook - has funded on Kickstarter but could do with some love to kick things up a gear, so that we can start hitting those awesome art Stretch Goals we have planned.

If you've been wondering about backing the project, wonder no more, since you can read up on the rules for mech combat in the game right here.

I've actually been thinking about offering including a set of Quick Combat Rules for mech combat in RONIN 47. If this is something you would like to see, let me know.

As it's August, it's also time for 31 days of #RPGaDay2021. I was a little late to the party this year but am now posting daily notifications (for the time being at least) related to the theme of the day, but also ACE Gamebooks and ACE Gamebooks Roleplay, of course. Just follow me on Twitter @jonathangreen, or join the ACE Gamebooks Facebook group to make sure you catch them all.
